Why this retractor

Built for the dentist who actually shoots, not just clamps.

Every shape, curve, and finish was decided at the chair, not in a CAD meeting. Here's what that means in your hand.

Surgical stainless steel

Resists corrosion through hundreds of autoclave cycles. Holds its form, doesn't pick up the surface pitting that plagues cheaper alloys.

Wire-frame, low profile

Open architecture means the lens sees the teeth, not a wall of metal. Soft on the lip, firm where it needs to be.

Photography-first geometry

Wide enough to clear the lens line. Low-profile enough not to dominate the frame. Designed alongside the photography workflow it serves.

Autoclavable to 134°C

Standard B-class cycle. No protective bags, no special handling. Cycle after cycle, without surface degradation.

Swiss logistics

Ships from Bülach, Zurich within 48 hours. Tracked delivery across the EU, EFTA, and most international destinations. Clean customs paperwork.

Clinician support, not a call center

Questions about sterilization protocols, technique, or photographic workflow? You're reaching a working dentist, not a ticket queue.

Shipping & customs

Swiss Post, worldwide. Honest about the rest.

Every order ships tracked from Bülach via Swiss Post. Customs handling differs by destination — here's what to expect before you check out, not after the package arrives.

CH Switzerland

Tracked Swiss Post delivery, typically 1–2 business days. Swiss VAT is already included in the listed price.

No customs, no surprises.

EU European Union & EFTA

Tracked international shipping, 2–5 business days depending on destination. Local VAT and any small administrative fees are collected by the carrier on delivery, payable by the recipient.

EU MDR registration paperwork travels with every package.

US United States

Important: US shipping includes a higher cost than other destinations due to a specific Swiss Post surcharge for the US route. The total is shown at Stripe checkout — no hidden fees added later.

Buyers are responsible for any US import duties, customs fees, or state-level taxes assessed on arrival. Rates and thresholds change frequently — check current CBP guidance for your state if in doubt.

+ Rest of world

We ship anywhere Swiss Post delivers — typically 5–10 business days for tracked international parcels.

Each country has its own import rules. Duties, VAT, or customs charges are payable by the recipient on arrival, per local regulations.

One rule everywhere: the price you see at Stripe checkout is the price you pay to us. Anything beyond that — customs, local VAT, duty fees — is set by your country's authorities, not by us. If you'd like a customs estimate for a bulk order before placing it, email join@devigusmethod.ch and we'll prepare a quote that includes shipping to your specific destination.

The story

40 years at the chair. Then I made my own.

I tested every retractor on the market. Some flexed in the cheek. Others rusted after fifty cycles. The wide ones got in the way of the lens. The narrow ones didn't pull enough tissue to see the distal of the second molar.

So I designed the shape I actually wanted — wire-frame for an unobstructed view of the dentition, contoured to the cheek, in a grade of steel that survives a serious workload. Designed in Switzerland. Manufactured by Zasber International to my specifications. Registered under EU MDR. Shipping from Bülach since 2023.

Common questions

Before you order.

How long does shipping take, and what about customs?

Orders placed before 14:00 CET ship the same business day from Bülach, Switzerland via Swiss Post. Delivery times and customs handling depend on destination — see the Shipping & customs section above for a country-by-country breakdown, including the higher US shipping cost and how import duties work in your country.

Are these MDR-compliant for use in the EU?

Yes. The product is registered under EU MDR 2017/745 and listed in EUDAMED. TaskSolution AG (Switzerland) acts as the importer of record, with full Declaration of Conformity, EC REP, and UDI-DI documentation supplied with every order.

How many autoclave cycles can they handle?

Surgical stainless steel doesn't have a strict cycle limit. Practical experience across hundreds of users since 2023 shows no meaningful degradation through routine B-class autoclave cycles at 134°C. Standard inspection between uses is the only protocol you need.

What's the difference between this and a generic stainless retractor?

Two things. The wire-frame geometry is tuned for dental photography — open architecture so the lens sees the teeth, not the retractor. And the alloy is true surgical stainless, not the lower-grade steel that picks up corrosion or surface pitting after 50–100 cycles. Both matter at the chair.

Can I order more than one set?

Yes. The Stripe checkout supports quantity selection. For orders of 5+ sets or practice/clinic billing, use the bulk inquiry email for preferred pricing and a single consolidated invoice.

Where are these manufactured?

The retractors are designed in Switzerland and manufactured by Zasber International, a specialist surgical-instrument manufacturer, working to specifications I developed in clinical practice. Every batch is inspected before shipping from Switzerland, and the product is fully registered under EU MDR 2017/745 with TaskSolution AG (Switzerland) as the importer of record.

What's your return policy?

If the product arrives damaged or doesn't match the specifications listed on this page, contact us within 14 days for a replacement or full refund. Due to the medical-device nature, sterile or used items can't be returned.
